Fashion: Le Monde, Figure de Style

Hey everyone, this past summer I assisted on a mens fashion story for Le Monde. The whole look of the shoot was based off of the idea of the invisible man, we spent half the day wrapping the model in bandages and the other half dancing on set to James Brown! Below are some photographs from the lovely day in Brooklyn! Out of all the amazing designer clothes they had on set I was obsessed with the Prada sunglasses that the model is wearing in the last two shots! Whats your favorite piece?

Artists to KNOW: Ilona Szwarc

Hello all, so sorry for the lack of postage this week, it's been crazy busy in my life. While it's only the end of February, my last year at the School of Visual Arts is coming rapidly to a close and I have a few shows coming up that I need to prepare for (posts on that to come).

Anyways, while I have been very busy I haven't been too busy to discover cool new things everyday! This week I will be posting one new thing in my life everyday! Hope you guys enjoy all the new discoveries as much as I do!

On Friday, after my philosophy class, I ventured up to the 6th floor too look at the new work that people had been raving about. I had to agree as soon as I saw the first image, it was quite spectacular. The photographer Ilona Szwarc, the title, American Girls. Somehow she was able to photograph all of these girls with their American Girl Dolls. It was really interesting and had me hooked from the start. Here are some examples of her work!

Fashion & Style: Audrey Hepburn

I came across this old issue of Town & Country the other day, an entire special on Audrey Hepburn from 2003. It was really quite beautiful and I just couldn't get over her effortless style and elegance. Here are some scans of my favorites!

Photography: Impossible Project

Okay, so here is something really cool, it's called the Impossible Project. Started by ten former Polaroid employees. In 2008 they saved the last Polaroid production plant and began making a whole new kind of instant film. You can go to their website to buy film, cameras, books and accessories. Click here to see samples of the film (scroll to bottom of page for images). To keep up on Polaroid news click here for their blog!

Where its AT: Aperture

This past Saturday I attended the Family Matters Lecture at Aperture, where the panel consisted of photographers Elinor CarucciGillian Laub, and Chris Verene, and was moderated by Susan Bright. It was such a great time, and I intend to start attending more events at Aperture! We ended the day with a walk on The High Line and dinner at The Diner.

Blogs to Follow

This is a great blog that I started to follow a couple of months ago, all they do is take submissions of photographs taken in the "Hippy Era". They are all really great, and fun to look at.
